Supermodel Niki Taylor’s Nashville

In 2001, the blonde runway star—known for her Vogue spreads and CoverGirl campaigns—ditched South Florida’s humidity and traffic for Nashville’s four seasons and stunning landscapes. She resides in the country music capital with her husband, NASCAR driver Burney Lamar, children Ciel and Rex and black Lab Uncle Buck. “People here are genuinely nice, and that’s what I fell in love with,” says Taylor.

The Wild Cow
“I found out I was allergic to beef and have been a vegetarian for two years. This is my favorite restaurant. I love the sweet potato tacos and always start with the hummus dip. They also have a really good peanut butter, banana and kale smoothie.”

Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
“You have to embrace the country music thing. And if you’re coming to Nashville, you have to go to the Country Music Hall of Fame. They’re always showcasing a legend and their life’s work.”

Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge
“It’s been there forever, right near the Ryman Auditorium. Back in the day, a lot of musicians used to exit the back door at the Ryman and sneak in Tootsie’s for a drink before and after the show.”

Nashville Zoo
“It’s one of the most peaceful places. The kids like going but Burney and I enjoy it more (we go at least once a week). We have our spot where we watch the monkeys. We always get a pretzel and juice.”

The Hermitage Hotel
“Gosh, this hotel has been here a hundred years. You just kind of step back in time and get a glimpse of Old Nashville. It’s been beautifully maintained and is a big bachelorette destination. They also have a great restaurant in there called Capitol Grille.”
